Phish! Yay!
Well, it sounds like Phish is getting back together. I am very excited about this! Honestly, I have never really thought of Phish as being a particularly good band. On one hand, it can easily be argued that they are a bunch of jack-of-all trade master of none HACKS who can't even correctly play a single genre of music. The same thing can be said about the Dead. But the thing is, I support both bands because they both brought the element of IMPROVISATION into the mainstream. Furthermore, they did this entirely on their own terms. DIY all the way! This paved the way for other "jam bands" and, in my humble opinion, have really educated audiences all over the world about the role that improvisation plays in all forms of music. Phish picked up right where the Dead left off. I don't think that Phish needs Mike Gordon though. First of all, he's a borderline pedophile. Second of all, he can't sing. Third-- he can't write songs. He's the joke of the band as far as I'm concerned. While that may add a comical element, it isn't necessary. The dude plays bass with a pick for crying out loud. All in all, however, a Phish reunion sounds very refreshing.

Where to begin?
Well well well. It is time for the world wide web to have a website dedicated to the wacky ideas of BGN. Ben Golder-Novick aka BGN aka Ben The Sax Guy aka Ben Charles aka many other nicknames (some of which are not suitable for the public world wide web domain)--- is a mellow fellow versed in many disciplines. "Music" and "Music Teacher" are what may first come to mind, but as of the last few years "basketball" "human sciences" "ping pong" "movies" and "video games" have been of new interest to Big Ben. If anyone has actually read this (and I'm sorry if you have)-- feel free to comment on the myriad of nicknames and interests which make up the mysterious mind of Benito.
